Dear Mother xx, Thank you for sharing the eulogy of Sister xx and xx’s. I am sad to hear their passing and I am sure they are in a better place now. Their passing reminds me that what I read in Psalms Chapter 39 last week, “LORD, let me know my end, the number of my days, that I may learn how frail I am.” and warns me how we should live in such a short earthly journey. “Anything you can turn your hand to, do with what power you have; for there will be no work, no planning, no knowledge, no wisdom in Sheol where you are going.” It was my privilege to know them even though my journey was short at xx Abbey. They were lovely and their beautiful voices and faces are always in our memory. We miss them and they will always live in our hearts. Best wishes, Xin

In Chinese, there’s no need for a “be” verb between a subject and a descriptive phrase. Asking “and you?” how are you? I'm pretty good. What about you? choose one of the characters below. Pair up with a classmate and role play the conversation. Where are you from? I'm Chinese. How about you? I'm Chinese. What about Mark? Chinese native speakers are more likely to ask about each other's well-being when they haven't seen each other for a while. How have you been lately? It's rare for people to answer with “I'm super good.” or “I'm not good.” Below are some of the most common answers. I'm not bad. I'm doing okay. I'm pretty busy. same old, same old. Based on the time of day, write an appropriate way to greet your teacher. When you want to say “see you” to a friend whom you expect to see soon at school.
