How to improve your business English? 3 Useful Tips.
Now-a-days, English is as much important as having a degree and even it is not needed in every job, is something that definitely will help you to get a better job or to move up in your current job.
The first thing to do is to ask for help. In whatever job we are, there will always be someone with better skills than ours. So is a good idea to identify who is good at English so we can ask for help in case we need it.
And how can we ask for help? We can ask for someone to check our presentations and written stuff to see if everything is ok and we have no grammar errors.
Another thing you can do is watch and listen to business-related media. Here, you have tons of things to learn from, you can listen to podcasts related to your business, in this case related to software.
You can find many podcasts in Youtube or Spotify and this will help you to get familiarized with some terms that are used in the software development process.
Also, you can watch some series like The Office or Shark Tank to learn some expressions used in English conversations in the companies during the daily meetings, which can you understand better what the people say in the daily stand ups and be part of the conversation.
Last but not least, write down new words and phrases you hear when you are in the meetings. This will help you enrich your vocabulary with new words, allowing you to know different ways to tell the same thing, which is very helpful when you are trying to explain a problem and you need help, so you must be very specific and clear about what you are doing and in which things you are going to need some help.
