It was raining today, and the sky was gloomy. Yikes, my stomach ached so badly this morning that I winced for hours. Miraculously, the pain subsided after lunch. So I had no excuse to skip the gym. Dad and I exercised on treadmills for an hour. Later, we studied an informative article about water vapor and snowflakes. I stumbled over one sentence: “Scattered throughout are the other cloud droplets that…”Every time I encounter these inverted structures, I get stuck. Can’t they just start a sentence with a subject, then a verb, then an object? Why complicate things?
