I have three years of experience in online teaching in which I gained the necessary skills to be fit for an Afrikaans online teacher. I have learned to be concise and patient and to be sensitive for the different levels of progression in various students. I believe that there is a big difference between learning a language and speaking a language. My lessons will be an opportunity for students to practice their basic Afrikaans communication and to learn more about the jargon, idiomatic expressions and culture within this unique language. As a resource I will use reading material, books and poetry books. As an activity I will expect from students to explain to me the reading material and we will unpack the content (all explanations in Afrikaans).
