Furthermore, the design of the study enabled highly parallel texts to be compared across proficiencies. I think it's parallel universe’s. One recurrent problem with linguistic investigation is the comparison of texts on different topics which utilize distinct ideational language and background knowledge; this problem raises issues of validity. utilizing a computer means you're not just operating it. Tales from the dream: with teacher Kris💤💭🌙 Jack found himself in a very difficult situation. The police were everywhere, looking for him, and he knew he was about to be arrested for something serious. Despite the chaos and fear surrounding him, there was one person he needed to see before anything else happened—a girl named Emily. Jack was deeply infatuated with her and couldn't bear the thought of leaving without saying goodbye. Jack made his way through the bustling streets and eventually reached Emily's house. He climbed up to her room, and there she was, as beautiful as ever. When he saw her, his heart ached. He walked up to her, and they embraced, sharing a tender kiss. They talked about their future, even though they both knew deep down that this might be the last time they would see each other. Before leaving, Jack asked Emily if he could borrow a rucksack. He picked it up and placed his belongings inside. As he walked out of the room, he encountered a police officer right outside. In a moment of desperation, Jack tried to defend himself, but the officer overpowered him. Summoning all his strength, Jack managed to escape the officer's grip and fled down the corridor. Despite his injuries, Jack continued down the corridor, only to be confronted by another officer. Realizing he had no means to defend himself, Jack surrendered peacefully. The officer, recognizing Jack's vulnerable state, escorted him safely outside. In the dimly lit basement, Jack noticed a small window. Through it, he could see the outside world, representing freedom and a life beyond his current troubles. With a glimmer of hope in his heart, Jack stared at the window, longing for the chance to start anew. And that's where Jack's story paused, leaving him at a crossroads, contemplating his next move in the face of overwhelming challenges. What happens to jack? Try to finish off the story. 🤞 🍀 😊

I'd like to talk about a question I'm still revisiting. It was from my foreign coworker, about typical Japanese behaviour at a scene where a friend needs care instead of laughter. He said he was with girls the other day and they made fun of him watching him accidentally trip over something. He had wanted kind words, shocked about their inconsiderate reactions. Coming back to the office, he asked me if it was a normal response for Japanese people to show in such a situation. The first thing that came to mind about Japanese characteristics was politeness, but it did not suit the situation he described; it was rather mean of those girls laughing. Next I recalled an article about the difference between American and Japanese comedy, saying the former betrays the expectation of audience and the latter meets it, for example, a Japanese comedian slips on obvious banana peel while an American does something different with it. Aside from whether the theory is true or not, it did not seem applicable to his suffering apart from the superficial similarity of stumbling. I didn't come up with a good one, so ended up giving him a boring general answer that it depends on people; someone is nice, others might not. He seemingly agreed, saying it was a matter of nature or nurture after all. In the meantime, I was picturing giggling students behind someone's back in highschool. I feel such behaviour is often seen in Japan. The conversation has ended and he isn't here anymore.

I came across an article online about "Artificial Sun" and would like to share it here. The article states we are facing a big issue called "Energy problem". The population all over the world will reach up to 10 billion in 2050 and we need new power resource which is over 40 trillion KWh. The amount of world power generation in 2019 was about 27 trillion. So, that means we need as much other power resource as the whole earth. In terms of power amount, cost, eco-friendly and safe, hydroelectric power generation and solar power are not enough and are not reality. One of the solutions to this issue is nuclear fusion generation which attracts a lot of attention these days. It is said that nuclear fusion generation is to make artificial sun on the earth. The attempt is that we artificially create the same nuclear fusion reaction as one which generates inside Sun and extract the energy out of it. The fuel for nuclear fusion is heavy hydrogen and tritium. We can get them out of sea and they are called "inexhaustible energy source". In theory, one kiro gram(kg) can generate as much energy as 10 million kg fossil fuel. Now, the generation has a bunch of technical challenging, but Korea has cutting-edge technology on this and it has stayed ahead of the game. Anyway, the technology is expected to be commercialized in 2040 or 2050. I will turn 85 around that time and I really hope the commercialization is a lot faster and is affordable for everyone.
