A well-written essay can still lose marks if it does not answer the whole question.
In IELTS Writing Task 2, some questions contain two separate parts. Make sure your essay responds clearly to both.
For example:
“Why do people choose to work from home? Is this a positive or negative development?”
Your essay must explain the reasons and give your opinion about whether the development is positive or negative.
Before writing, underline each part of the task and turn it into a simple planning question. This takes only a few seconds and helps you stay relevant throughout your essay.

Hello native English speakers.
Thank you very much in advance.
There are many contexts where native and non-native speakers are at an advantage if they understand not just polished, elegant language, but the full breadth of ordinary and unusual expressions (both those that are grammatical and those whose grammaticality is perhaps questionable). (original)
I guess :
if they understand not just polished, elegant language, but the full breadth of ordinary and unusual expressions =
1. if they understand the full breadth of ordinary and unusual expressions rather than just polished, elegant language.?
OR,
2. if they understand not only just polished, elegant language, but also the full breadth of ordinary and unusual expressions. ?
Which is correct by grammar and by the context of the original?

Language learning is a complex cognitive function that puts different parts of the brain at work. Spaced repetition technique can help the memory improve over time by revisiting materials at increasing intervals. This is why I give my clients or my students additional materials to study. This helps them improve retention over time.

AI overdependence and cognitive decline which affected language learning
Note: I have been teaching for 13 years and by far students in the past have better performance in classes because they really utilized their cognitive function to excel in a new language.
AI is revolutionary indeed because it helps increase productivity. However,
Overdependence leads to a decline in cognitive function. Language learning is a complex cognitive process which requires effort and critical thinking abilities. Despite the popularity of technology, I have noticed that many students are not improving their fluency , especially those who use AI on a daily basis. Many students are not improving their writing skills because they let AI do the work that they are supposed to do. What many students forget is that it is the complexity of the task and the difficulty of the task that helps build neural pathways in the brain.
This is why language learning improves cognitive function , as long as it is done the right way.
