It was sunny today. After my swim lesson, I learned a new prank – short-sheeting. Without reckoning, I decided to apply it on Mom. While she was out, I folded her blanket in half, tucked one end under her pillow, leaving the other end loose, so she would be more likely to slide in the compartment I folded. Then I covered it with another blanket to make it look normal. Later, Mom fell for it! She screamed when she tried to tuck in. She was stuck! I pretended to be surprised and told her she was growing too fast. Deep down, I knew she was just playing along. It was so obvious; who uses two blankets in summer? I love Mom.

I have been self-studying Pinyin for a while, but I find that it is difficult for me to remember enough words and put them into sentences. Another teacher I spoke to recently suggested to combine Pinyin learning with characters. Would you agree with that? It’s just the idea of learning characters simultaneously with conversational Pinyin seems a bit daunting to me. The short answer is that it makes sense to focus on the spoken language first, thus delaying learning characters. It takes people much longer to be able to read Chinese, even for native speakers, we start to learn characters at grade 1 (5 or 6 years old). Language is for communication, even though we recognize characters, we can’t communicate without listening and speaking skills.

The work environment has become very toxic. During the pandemic, no one would like to enter China, but the previous principal was retired, the school needed to hire a new one. Finally, the school hired one, but her condition is: not only herself, but also her husband, her daughter in law and her son should work at our school together. All in high positions. Such as the head of one or two subjects, assistant head of primary or secondary. Many good teachers left because of they couldn’t see their families during the pandemic. The teachers’ qualify are becoming worse and worse. I recall many years ago, the teachers asked students to give us appreciation cards and gave us red packages during Chinese news year. But after the previous manager left, the custom has also gone. Some teachers even asked my colleague to pick up deliveries for them. My colleague refused, then she was fired.

I don't think learning foreign languages reduces kids’ cultural identity. Because languages can help people know more about themselves and the world. People get the true cultural identity only when they can have a clear and comprehensive understanding of themselves and the environment.

Before talking about this topic, we need to ask the most famous three questions first. Who you are? Where are you from?(here not means your hometown) Where are you going?( not a certain place, but the aim of your life) Each person lives on this planet starts from a cell and born after nine months in mother's body. The process is amazing and holy. Each of us was respected and welcomed after being born. We usually spend the first three years of life playing without any annoying things until we go to kindgarten. We slowly felt sad about many things, especially during puberty. As children, we are eager to determine anything ourselves, but we really rely on our parents' help.We don't like our parents interfering our lives a lot until they don't have ability to help us. Then we grow up. As adults, we try our best to help our children. We smile to face the hostility from our children. No matter, waht they do for us, we love them forever. Day by day, we get old. We peacefully and patiently accept everything happens in ouy daily. We have spent the whole life understanding the three questions about life.

Having a salaried job is better than being self-employed. To what extent do you agree? It is sometimes said that getting paid as an employee has more advantages than owning a business. I somewhat agree with this statement in terms of stable income, fringe benefits and opportunities for growth although businessowners enjoy independence and tax benefits. Working for a company ensure stability. Stable salary revenue makes it easy for people to manage monthly living expenses, such as rent, food and utilities. In addition, various benefits come with a corporate job, including health insurance and paid leaves. These days, more and more companies focus on employees' well-being. Lastly, people can get valuable experience. Work in a company often involves large budget and broad connection to other businesses, which will enhance people's carrer prospects. On the contrary, being self-employed has its own benefits. First, business owners make decisions at will. There is no need to get approval from managers or board directors. This means people can pursue what they want to do, keeping motivation high. Additionally, proprietorship can take advantage of tax deduction. Many types of expenses around a business owner are considered for the business, including a car, an office, a PC, a mobile, clothes and meetings. These costs can offset revenue, reducing their tax burden. To summarise, although both employment status have different advantages, I think salaried jobs are partly better than being self-employed because the former involves wider benefits and stability.

I love studying new langages because it allows to speak with every body and we can learn a lot from each other. I love exchange, every culture is so rich.
